BURN PERMITS

Before you burn outdoors, a burn permit is required.  Depending on where you plan to burn, the process is different.  Make sure you follow the instructions and check for a burn ban before you begin your burn.

How to Obtain a Burn Permit

Franklin County Emergency Management issues burn permits for unincorporated areas of Franklin County.  For the Wellsville Fire DIstirct, Franklin County areas outside of the Wellville city limits are unincorporated.  To obtain a burn permit for these areas, click here.

If you live within the Wellsville city limits, you can obtain a burn permit at Wellsville City Hall, located at 411 Main St.  Call (785) 883-2296 if you have questions.

Miami County requires burn permits for open burning in compliance with state statutes and administrative regulations. Burn permits are issued by Miami County Fire Districts 1 and 2 in conjunction with Miami County Emergency Management.  For more information, click here.
